Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the questions we hear most. For anything specific to your business, speak with an advisor.

Business setup

Should I choose a Mainland or Free Zone company?

It depends mainly on where your customers are and what you plan to do. A mainland company can generally trade anywhere in the UAE market, while a free zone company is usually suited to international trade, services delivered within the zone, or businesses that value zone-specific benefits. We compare both against your activity, budget, visa needs and office requirements before you commit.

How do I choose the correct business activity?

Your licence activity decides what you are legally allowed to do, which authority licenses you, and sometimes whether extra approvals are needed. We map what you actually plan to sell or provide to the activity codes available in each jurisdiction, so the licence matches the business rather than restricting it later.

What documents are required for company formation?

Requirements vary by jurisdiction and structure, but typically include passport copies of shareholders and managers, visa or entry stamp copies where applicable, passport photographs, a proposed trade name and, for corporate shareholders, attested company documents. We give you an exact checklist once the structure is agreed.

Can MIRAI assist with corporate bank account opening?

Yes. We help you prepare the documents and business profile banks usually ask for and coordinate introductions with suitable banks. Final approval always rests with the bank's own compliance review.

Can you assist with visas and PRO services?

Yes. We support investor, partner, employee and family visas, Emirates ID, work permits, medical fitness, renewals, cancellations and related government transactions.

Accounting & tax

When does a UAE business need VAT registration?

VAT registration becomes mandatory once taxable supplies and imports exceed the threshold set by the Federal Tax Authority, and voluntary registration is available below that. We review your turnover and expected revenue to confirm whether and when you need to register.

What is Corporate Tax registration?

UAE Corporate Tax requires in-scope businesses, including many free zone entities, to register with the Federal Tax Authority and file annual returns, even where no tax is ultimately payable. We confirm your obligations, handle registration support and prepare your returns.

Can MIRAI provide ongoing accounting support?

Yes. We offer monthly or quarterly bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, payroll and management reporting, so your records stay ready for VAT, Corporate Tax and audit.

HR & payroll

Can MIRAI manage payroll and HR?

Yes. We run payroll and WPS, calculate leave salary, overtime and end-of-service benefits, and can act as your outsourced HR function, from contracts and policies to onboarding and offboarding.

Trademark & products

Can you assist with trademark registration?

Yes. We run a trademark search, prepare and support the application, track it through to registration and manage renewals. Where legal representation is needed, we coordinate with licensed IP professionals.

What types of products can be registered in the UAE?

Common categories include cosmetics and personal care, food products, health supplements and medical devices. Requirements differ by product type and authority. We assess your product first and tell you which registration route applies.
